Gas prices are always going up and down in price. There have been countless times where I have filled up my tank only to find gas goes down in price the next week. Rather than try to guess when the best time to fill up is, here are a few ideas that can help you spend $0.00 on gas.
1. Uber While Running Errands.
I’ve signed up to be an Uber driver not to make a lot of money, but so that I can make other people pay for my gas. Whether you’re going to the grocery store, coming home from work, or running errands, it’s easy to pick up a few people on the way. By having other people pay for your gas, you’re now turning your daily trips into zero cost rides for you and your bank account!
2. Fill Up Half Your Tank at a Time.
If you were throwing darts, is it easier to hit a bullseye with 1 dart or 10 darts? 10 darts is the obvious answer, but this translates into filling up your gas tank. The more times you’re putting gas into your car, the more likely you will get better prices at the pumps!
3. Walk or Ride a Bicycle Locally.
There are countless times where I’ve driven my car where I could’ve walked or ridden a bicycle. Unless you absolutely have to, try walking or riding your bike to places that are within a mile of your home. Not only will you save money on gas, but you’ll get some quality exercise along the way!
